Justice Department Opens Investigation in "Candy Cane Case"

Plano, TX- The U.S. Department of Justice opened an investigation into the Plano Independent School District this morning.

“It is great to have a Justice Department that cares about religious freedom,” said Hiram Sasser, Director of Litigation with Liberty Legal Institute.

On Wednesday, December 15, 2004, parents and children from the Plano school system and their attorneys held a press conference to announce a lawsuit being filed against the Plano Independent School District for its unconstitutional censorship policy.
