Plano, TX- Today, Liberty Legal Institute filed three complaints against Rev. Tom Heger and Save Texas Marriage, the political action group who has made more than 2 million fraudulent phone calls to Texas voters regarding Proposition 2, which is on the ballot for the Nov. 8 Constitutional Amendments Election.
Save Texas Marriage and Rev. Heger made auto-dial phone calls containing false messages about Prop. 2, the Texas constitutional amendment that defines marriage as the union between one man and one woman.
“Mr. Heger should be ashamed for making untrue statements designed to deceive Texans, like senior citizens, into voting against their own conscience,” said Hiram Sasser, director of litigation for Liberty Legal Institute.
The complaints filed with the Federal Communications Commission, Federal Election Commission and Federal Trade Commission accuse the group of violating federal law by deceiving voters and inhibiting them from exercising their constitutional right to vote.
Prop. 2 simply defines marriage as the union of one man and one woman, putting into the Constitution what is already in the law.
“Mr. Heger and this PAC will be held responsible for this sinister and deliberate attempt to deceive and confuse voters,” Sasser said.
