Statement in Response to U.S. Supreme Court Hearing Partial Birth Abortion Case

Plano, TX- The United States Supreme Court just announced that they will hear a partial birth abortion case, Gonzales v. Carhart. In 2000, the Court reversed the Partial Birth Abortion Ban in a 5-4 decision, with retired Justice Sandra Day O’Conner being the deciding vote striking down the ban. The court now consists of Justice Samuel Alito, who replaced Justice O’Connor, and Chief Justice John Roberts.
